But what exactly will your 6th - 8th grader be doing on this service and adventure trip? Let’s take a look at what you can expect.  Arrival, hiking, and whitewater rafting  Day one will be all about participants flying or driving to the airport in Portland – where they will meet the program leaders – before transferring with their fellow travelers to their Moosehead Lake accommodation. 7-Day Teen Adventure Trip This Summer - The Road Less Traveled

  Explore the Pacific Northwest with us this summer, from kayaking along scenic coastlines to hiking through iconic national parks. If you have a busy summer schedule and can only squeeze in a shorter trip, this 7-day mini adventure could be a great option! Check out what you could be doing below! Day 1: Arrival in Seattle (SEA) Your adventure begins as you touch down in Seattle, where you'll meet your fellow travelers and leaders at the airport. From there, we'll transfer to our campsite, where we settle in and get to know each other. We also get our supplies ready for our first expedition.  Day 2: Kayaking Haro Strait to Stuart Island With the sun rising on day two, we're off to meet our local guides on the west side of San Juan Island.   When planning our teen summer programs at The Road Less Traveled (RLT), a strong focus is consistently placed on fostering the utmost commitment to stewardship and environmental service among our participating students. That focus continues into the work our program participants do “on the ground” to help the communities they visit over the course of our trip. We take great care to ensure our leaders and travelers only ever go to parts of the world where they are genuinely wanted, and where we can help make a meaningful and positive impact. With an increasing awareness of the threats presented by climate change, it also cannot be understated just how important it is to take care of our precious Earth.
